On the earth, but I thought the photo looked a bit like it was under water.

From my limited experience snorkeling, I’d say it could have been, but they are lichens growing on a piece of old wood!

It does look like the fruiting body of a fungus, or maybe a lichen. A pretty colour in any case.

At first I thought it was either moss or lichens. When I finally looked it up I saw it was definitely lichens. The “flowers” are a pretty color… and ever so small!
