Pink Bougainvillea and iPad Editing

This photo is my first attempt at resizing, watermarking, and a minimal amount of editing a photo on my iPad. I used three apps,Image Size, iWatermark+, and Photo Editor- to do this. It was a cumbersome process. I hope to find one app that combines these features in the near future. If you know of one, please leave a comment below. :-)My response to Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Pink. Thank you Cee for the challenge!

Mauve

Yesterday it snowed again here in the western edge of the Hudson Valley, New York. Perhaps soon we’ll have some spring color like these blooms display. I photographed them a few years ago at the New York Botanical Gardens in the Bronx.

The NYBG presents a spectacular orchid show every year. This year the show began in February and runs until April 19th.

This post is my response to the One Word Photo Challenge: Mauve. Thank you Jennifer for the challenge!

One Word Photo Challenge: Bittersweet

I took this photo a few years ago and thought of it for this week’s One Word Photo Challenge: Bittersweet. Does anyone know what kind of flower it is?
(Update February 28, 2015 – It’s a Begonia! After a little bit of dialogue, this was confirmed by MyFoodAndFlowers. Scroll down to the comments to see photos that include the leaves and stems.)
