Season’s Greetings!

With this post I would like to send out Easter greetings to anyone who celebrates this joyous holiday as we do in our home. I would also like to wish those who celebrate Passover, blessed holy days.

If you celebrate none of these and you live in the northern hemisphere, “Happy spring,” and if you live in the southern hemisphere, “Happy fall!”

I took these photographs through the windshield of a car moving swiftly over the Abril Bridge in Lisbon, Portugal. I was disappointed. I was  just a tag along on the ride, not the driver, and so unable to seek a place to pull over to get good shots.

I kept the photos because they held a memory for me. I never dreamed I would share them publicly because of their poor quality. Then along came the prompt for this week’s Weekly Photo Challenge, “Blur.”  Today I share with you my glimpse of Cristo Rei, Christ the King, blurry as it is, just in time for Easter!

Many Thanks! … Plus a 2014 Photo Review

On this last day of 2014, I’d like to take a moment to thank everyone in the WordPress blogging community who has taken the time to peruse my blog, like, and comment. I’m still truly amazed by the response I have gotten! Several of you have graciously nominated me for awards for which I’ll make the time to accept sometime after the New Year. Thank you again!

I began my blogging journey only a few months ago in September not really knowing where it would take me. I seem to be leaning toward having a photo blog, but who knows where 2015 will lead… perhaps I’ll get brave and add more text to my image posts!

I’ll make a toast this New Years Eve to a happy blogging future with you all!

Happy New Year! ~Terry

Here’s a gallery of some of the images I’ve posted since September…

This little fellow is accustomed to wearing sweaters to keep warm, but I was surprised by how cooperative he was with the hat!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Twinkle

Dyer Lights 2012

In December of 2012 there was a day I had to go to Brooklyn, New York. On the way home I made a wrong turn and found myself on a street where almost every house was decked to the nines with Christmas lights. I made another turn and there were more lights, then another turn – even more. Block after block of Christmas lights galore. It was a complete spectacular! I had stumbled upon the Dyker Lights, a holiday extravaganza in the Dyker Heights section of Brooklyn. I was extatic to have my camera with me and I took tons of photos!

I didn’t load them all immediately into my computer. I put several on facebook and the rest remained on the memory card. That is, they remained on the memory card until my dog, still a puppy, chewed it beyond repair and almost beyond recognition. The card had slipped out of my camera bag and dropped on the floor where it was fair game for puppy teeth. It was a 32 gig card and it — was — full. Months and months of photos were lost except for a few that had somehow made it into the computer or onto facebook. This is one of the few photos that remain of my brief excursion through the Dyker Lights.
