Buds
Buds burst open, squeezed through twig, branch, and bark. Straining toward a lush green future. Seeking the light and warmth of spring. Copyright ©2016 Terry Boswell
I took this photo one morning last week in my backyard. The sun came out strong after a soaking mix of rain and sleet. Everything was shimmering with light. The conditions were perfect to satisfy Jennifer Nichole Wells’s One Word Photo Challenge: Bokeh, and the resulting photo works for The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge: Future, as well. Buds and new growth always speak to me of a promising future.
Thank you Jennifer N. and Jen H. for the challenges!

Buildings And Trees

This is my response to Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Buildings and Trees.
One Word Photo Challenge: Pine
I was happy to be taking this photo from under the roof of my front porch today. The needles on the Alberta Spruce trees to either side of it were rain drenched in the cold December air, providing me with a response to Jennifer Nichole Wells’ One Word Photo Challenge: Pine.
Thank you Jennifer for providing the challenge! 🙂
Photography 101: The Natural World
The theme for the eighth day of Photography 101 is The Natural World.
“Capture a moment, big or small, and pay attention to the lines and curves produced by nature.”
I took these photographs on the same gray day as the photographs in my previous post. I was fascinated with the way line was defined by the bare branches, and how line, combined with line to create texture. I was also amazed at how the sky changed as the day progressed. I took these photos in and around my backyard from mid morning until mid afternoon.
