Cropped or uncropped, what do you think?

    1. I think I do too. The cropped version was an afterthought. I think the snowshoe trail looks more meandering and has more depth in the uncropped version. In the cropped version, the focus is more on the individual tracks and the tree line seems much closer because the larger context is missing. The cropped version, however, would probably be good on a note card with a quote or saying to provide context :-p

      1. Lol! Auto correct is such a problem! I find myself proofreading things just to check up on auto check! There’s something wrong with that!

  1. I find it amazing how cropping can completely change the mood of the image. I like the uncropped version, because it conveys a feeling of a wide, endless landscape, and the sun make it a hopeful picture. I want to go explore.
The cropped version, great, too, lacks that vastness and hope, it’s more showing the hardship of plodding through the snow and hoping to get home. Maybe home is behind that ridge. 🙂 I really like these comparisons, great fun. 🙂

    1. I hadn’t thought of it, but the sun in the uncropped version does create a feeling of hope.
Maybe the cropped version should have a caption, You’ll make it through.”
I’m happy you enjoyed the comparison, and thanks for the great analysis! 🙂

    1. It was perfect! … an unexpected detour and break during a day of driving! 🙂 Just off the highway I saw a sign for a state park on the Long Island Sound. It was one of the few warmer days this winter. I couldn’t resist visiting!
