Winter Warming

Sun warms lengthening days.
Soiled snow liquefies.
Buddha emerges
from the
freeze.

Buddha in dirty melting snow.

This week the Buddha in my backyard, covered with snow until a few days ago, made his spring début amidst mud, and melt, and a winters worth of sunflower seed hulls scattered from the feeders.

In response to the Photography 101 prompt, “warmth.”

    1. Yes, he’s my backyard Buddha! He enjoyed my husband’s parents’ garden before moving to ours. I’m sure I’ll take a few more pictures of him as the seasons change! 🙂

    1. Glad to have made you smile! Buddha’s bald head poked out of the snow first and within a few days the rest of him began to emerge. Today there’s only a small patch of dirty ice next to him amidst the mud. I should really plant a few snow drops next to him so there’s something green nearby when the snow melts!
