Last week I had to travel into New Jersey. After driving for a few hours, I stopped to get out of the car and stretch my legs. I was surprised and delighted to find this magnificent heart-shaped tree trunk as I wandered a bit into the Watchung Reservation. Such a find! I’m posting it, along with a tanka that I hastily wrote, in honor of Valentine’s Day.

I hope you enjoy, and thanks for stopping by!

Love In Ten Sentences and Home

I was selected by both Jane from Making It Write and Krissy from Kneal1Poetry to write something for the “Love in Ten Sentences” event. If you haven’t visited Jane’s or Krissy’s blog, you should take a look. They are both unique and gifted poets/writers, much better than photographer me! 🙂

This post is also a response to today’s Photography 101 prompt, “home.” Home is where the heart is, and the hearts in the photo below are part of a collection in my home.

… OK. Ten lines, four words each, each line including the word love, and then include a favorite love quote… let’s see how I do…

Love’s gentle breath whispers.
Love tickles with delight.
Love cradles and caresses.
Love lights darkest night.
Patiently devoted, love listens.
Loyally steadfast, love sustains.
Love’s eyes brightly glisten.
Love warms away pain.
Love’s heart flutters joyful
seeing the one loved.
